British units based in UK that fought at Gallipoli

Historically these would be referred to as British Units BUT so would Indian, Australian, New Zealand, Newfoundland, Maltese and Zionist.

They were :

  • 29th Division (pre war "regulars" with lots of training but no combat experience).
  • New Army Divisions (Volunteers with little training and no combat experience).
    • 10th (Irish) Division
    • 11th (Northern) Division & 
    • 13th (Western) Division
  • Territorials (pre war part time militia units called up)
    • 42nd (East Lancashire) Division, 
    • 52nd (Lowland) Division, 
    • 53rd (Welsh) Division, and 
    • 54th (East Anglian) Division
  • Royal Naval Division (made up of men who had joined the Navy and were not needed at sea, and some Army units).
