The Division was a
formation created by the establishment of the Territorial Force in 1908.
Gallipoli
July 1915 : embarked at
Liverpool, for Mudros
10 August 1915 : landed
at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli
December 1915 : withdrawn
from Gallipoli, moved to Egypt, and eventually into Palestine
Palestine
After gradual
demobilisation, the Division was disbanded in Egypt in September 1919,
and was reformed at home in 1920.

Artillery

The Divisional
Artillery remained in England when the Division moved to
Gallipoli. It moved independently to France in November 1915
coming under the command of 33rd
Division. Officers and men were attached to the Divisional
Artillery of the 2nd, 7th and 12th Divisions. It moved to Egypt
and rejoined the Division in Egypt in February 1916.
