The
landing in the Anafarta area was at Suvla Bay and was by British troops.
It was virtually unopposed.
The only Australians there were the
RAN Bridging Train who created piers.
Sari Bair (range) was at Anzac. |

Pure
bullshine.
In a bayonet charge, which at Gallipoli were often only 30 to 50
yards into machine gun fire, no Officer had time to stop and offer a wounded man a
cigarette.
What a tragic but noble death,
keeping a stiff upper lip in the face of adversity.
Pure
bullshine.

The
Australian Artillery took almost no part in the attack on Achi Baba (which is
in the south) and were
not at Suvla Bay (which is in the north).
Although some of the Gunners were New South Welshmen
there was no "New South Wales Artillery".
The Allies never got to the
"slopes of Aki Baba".

The
idea of Australians at the Anzac landing climbing up ropes as shown is
laughable.
What is more the landing was at Anzac
Cove and North (or Anzac) Beach, nowhere near Suvla Bay.
There was no surf and the fire was not
"murderous".
I "luv" the bare knees on
the soldiers. |

Yes
the Anzacs and the Gurkhas, Punjabis and Sikhs sat round having merry
times together over open fires, eating jam cakes, while a lone sentry stood guard.
Sort of makes you sorry you weren't
there, doesn't it?
