Salt Lake near Suvla Bay,
Gallipoli Turkey
|
 |
| Salt
Lake is a partly wet, partly dry lake due east of Suvla Bay and north of
Anzac. The plain around it (Suvla Plain) leads up to the hills
called W Hill, Scimitar Hill Chocolate Hill and Green Hill. Because the
plain is so flat the hills are unusually dominant. |

Artillery shell craters
are still evident in the dry area of Salt Lake, 90 years later. |
